At Excluservice, we understand that many clients reach out hoping to get an estimate before bringing their vehicle in. We also understand why — you want clarity, confidence, and a better understanding of what to expect.

Because we value transparency and want to provide our clients with accurate information, we believe it is important to explain why we generally do not provide repair estimates over the phone, from a description of symptoms alone, or based on a testing report from another shop or dealership.


Why We Do Not Provide Repair Estimates Without Seeing the Vehicle


Accuracy Matters

Providing an accurate estimate begins with seeing the vehicle in person. Even when two vehicles appear identical on paper, there can be important differences that affect the repair. Build variations, part options, prior repairs, corrosion, aftermarket modifications, and overall vehicle condition can all influence what is required.

Even a VIN number does not always tell the full story. The most reliable way for us to provide an accurate estimate is for one of our trained professionals to inspect the vehicle firsthand.


Proper Testing Comes First

In many cases, a vehicle’s symptoms do not tell the full story. A problem that appears to be caused by one component may actually stem from something else entirely. For that reason, we do not base repairs on another shop’s findings, and we do not replace parts without first performing our own evaluation.

This approach protects our clients from unnecessary repairs, incorrect assumptions, and avoidable expense. Our goal is not simply to replace parts — it is to identify what the vehicle actually needs and recommend the right course of action.

Every estimate we prepare requires time and attention from skilled team members. Researching labor operations, confirming parts, reviewing vehicle-specific details, and building a thoughtful plan all take time.

In order to serve the clients whose vehicles are already in our shop, we must keep our team focused on the work in front of them. Preparing estimates for vehicles that have not yet been inspected can interrupt workflow and delay progress for clients who are actively relying on us to complete their repairs.

By requiring the vehicle to be here first, we are able to protect both the accuracy of the estimate and the efficiency of our service process.


Our Process

We do not provide repair estimates over the phone, text, webchat or by email. All estimates are provided only after one of our technicians has inspected the vehicle. In some cases, this can be accomplished during our complimentary 15-minute no-wrench inspection. In other situations, additional testing may be required to accurately identify the issue and prepare the appropriate estimate.
